We've been able to have contact with Greg daily since he arrived in Haiti last Saturday, through e-mail & now his cell phone. He's working at a clinic located in the old police barracks very close to the Presidential Palace and a large tent city. Because of its central location the clinic has been very busy, seeing 500-600 people a day. It has also become a central drop off location for many supplies, food and water distribution. Greg is moved by how grateful the people are when given a bottle of water. He was sleeping with all the clinic workers and the police officers outside the clinic in the parking lot but it is noisy, hot and smelly there so last night he moved with others to the roof of the police barracks where at least it's a bit cooler and there is less odor.
From the roof he was able to see a parade of worshipers singing praises as they marched down the street. They were singing in creole. Greg asked out loud "What are they saying" and suddenly there was a Hatian woman beside him on the roof, she said "They are singing 'Satan, you aren't gonna get us this way.'"
