Beautiful Baby Boy!

My head is still spinning form the call we received this afternoon letting us know we have a son! A son, a 9 lb bundle of boy only 2 1/2 months old! We are so excited! Tomorrow, May 1st is not only my dear husbands birthday but also is the 2 year mark from the day Greg came home from work, grabbed the computer and started showing me videos of kids in orphanages. We'd always planned on adopting but a discussion Greg had had with someone at work that day sparked Greg's desire to adopt "now." We got excited and that night announced to family that child #2 would join our family through adoption. It's been a long bumpy ride and we pray it will be smooth from here on out!
We got the call today when I was out playing in the yard with Ella and her friend, the phone rang, I ran for it and missed it but saw the caller ID read the name of our adoption agency. I took out my cell phone and stared at it, it rang. It was our social worker, I answered very excited but our sw said "do you have a minute to talk" and my excitement crashed, a paperwork problem I figured. " Because I have a referral for you!" she continued ahhhhhh!!! It's a whirlwind in my mind from there. A baby boy, I wasn't expecting a little boy I was expecting a child close to age 2, oh my goodness a baby! I wrote down some information and she said she'd send me the documents and pictures via e-mail. I paged Greg as my friend pulled up with pick up her son. We'd spent the morning together, getting lattes, pedicures and going for a walk (the tough stuff I have to do with my time while waiting for baby) so she'd heard me trying to talk myself into not getting too discouraged by the duration of the entire process. I met her at the door in giddy tears. "We have a boy!" What a great friend to have their with me since she herself has been through the process of international adoption and knows the painful wait and the joy on the other side. And that's how Greg became the second person I told that we have a son! However, Greg immediately signed onto email and got to see pictures of our boy 1st since I wasn't able to pull them up on the laptop.
The next step is to receive a court date (should be in a month or two) and if we pass court the first time (please pray that we do!) then we should get to travel about a month later. So hopefully by the end of July we'll be holding baby boy Sund in our arms. And I promise by that time we'll be calling him something other than Baby Boy.

Easter 2009

Our very own Easter Bunny Lollipop has moved out of the garage back into the yard where she gets much more attention.

Ella loves to bake, on Good Friday she decided to bake dog biscuits and then put on her rabbit ears and brought the biscuits to the neighborhood dogs.

We colored easter eggs for the second time this year and then Ella used the egg dye to paint paper towels. She gets very upset about the breaking or eating of any of her eggs. The first 18 she dyed with Nana and Papa required a photo of her with each egg before she'd allow us to eat them. This batch I've been eating in secret.

Ella and her friends at Church on Easter morning. Ella has impressed us with her understanding of Easter and the beautiful songs and drawings she's been creating about Jesus.

After church we joined some of our friends from Greg's job for brunch and a fantastic easter egg hunt.

Ella and Eli showing off their eggs. Ella's basket was overflowing, but just like at halloween she hasn't asked for any of her candy since she got it.
We finished our Easter day at Greg's parents house with a wonderful dinner and great friends.

Nana and Papa Visit

We had many adventures while Nana and Papa were visiting, including a visit to Lumi Island just off the coast of Bellingham.

Throwing rocks in the water is always a favorite past time of Ella's.
dinosaur leg?

Greg found a ton of crabs under a rock.

We also hiked in Glacier, WA

Easter egg coloring a little early because Ella wanted to do it with Nana and Papa (while i-chatting with cousin Hunter)
