Hunter and Chase Come to Visit

Hunter and Chase, along with Auntie Faye, came to visit us for two fun filled weeks.
Bath time for everyone
The kids table at Thansgiving
Ella, Hunter and Nana made this awesome Gingerbread House
We visited the Children's Museum in Boston where Ella became a Cowgirl

There was a great climbing structure at the entrance to the museum. It was 3 stories high. Ella was good at climbing up but didn't want to climb down. Thankfully her big cousin Hunter was able to help her climb all the way up and get out at the top.

Hunter came with me to watch Ella at her Gymnastics class. She goes into class all by herself now! (she's 3rd from the left)
We were at the mall getting pictures taken of the cousins together so we thought we'd bring the kids to see Santa also. Ella didn't want to go near Santa but he asked her from a distance if she wanted a baby doll for Christmas. She said yes (Ella doesn't really play with dolls, she plays with dinosaurs and pretends they are her babies and she is a mommy dinosaur. But, since Santa suggested it, that is now what she is asking for for Christmas.) Later that night Ella told Greg "daddy, I asked God for a baby doll today" so we had to explain that God and Santa were not the same. "Then who is God?" Ella asked. "The creator and maker of all things" was dad's answer "Then where does God live?" was Ella's next question. Pretty deep discussions to have with an almost 3 year old.
The first snow fall of the season wasn't much and didn't last for long but Ella and Hunter were so excited they played outside in the cold for hours. This was the first time Hunter had seen snow.
New England Aquarium
Ella and Chase
Ella, Hunter and I got to see the underbelly of a horseshoe crab.
It was so nice of this Turtle to wave to the kids. Ella says this was her favorite part of the day.
Ella became a bubbleologist at the Science Museum

The Science Museum has a great dinosaur display
View of Boston from the Science Museum
The kids found some huge puddles and got soaked.
Ella had a list of things she wanted to do with cousin Hunter when he was visiting from CA. Feeding the ducks in Boston Common was at the top of the list.

Halloween 2007

Ella wanted to be a Red Triceratops with a Blue Belly for Halloween. This is not an easy costume to find. But thanks to e-bay and some creative sewing (okay, and some hot glueing) she was transformed into a very friendly dinosaur.

Papa stopped by to see our Ellasaurous
Who has time to stop for pictures there's some Trick-or-Treating to be done!

Excuse me mommy, why...

Ella has started almost every statement this month with "Excuse me" even if we are the only ones in the car or on a walk. And the "Excuse me;" which always requires a response of "Yes Ella," is usually followed by a question. Some questions are great "Why are there no clouds in the sky at night?" "Do Sea Turtles eat Jelly Fish?" (they do) other questions are a bit frustrating. This was our conversation the other day "Ella get your pants." -"Why"- "so we can go to your friends house"- "Why" -"so you can play"-"Why" - "because it's fun"- "Why?" - I sigh-" Why you (repeat noise of sigh)" - I laugh- "Why you laugh" -"because I'm getting frustrated" - "Why you getting frustrated mommy, don't be frustrated, I love you, be happy (big hug) you happy now?"-" Yes, I am happy."
One last day at the beach
Taking Lollipop for a walk
We love Fall in New England!
All of these beautiful leaves to play in!
We took a lovely fall drive out to Shelburne Falls and the bridge of flowers.

In hindsight perhaps a preschooler shouldn't be holding a knife.. humm... but her pumpkin certainly came out cute.

Visiting Hunter and Chase

After Greg's conference he joined us for a few days of fun. Here he is with Ella at pier 39 enjoying the stinky sea lions.
E with Alcatraz behind her, or as we explained "A place people went for really long time outs!"

Japanese Gardens
The kids pretended to be dinosaurs a lot this week!

Ella got to join Hunter at his amazing preschool. She loved it and got very messy!
Cousins

Ella got to slide down Clifford's tail, just like they do on the cartoon.

We also visited the Children's Discovery Museum.
Auntie Faye reading bed time stories to the crew.

Ella and Hunter
We went to Happy Hollow twice during our visit. There were playgrounds, amusement rides, and a zoo. Ella absolutely loved it!
Ella as a T-Rex and baby Chase
Ella is REALLY into Dinosaurs. Here she is being so good playing while waiting for our delayed flight to San Fran to visit cousins Hunter and Chase.
