Birthday Girl!

On New Years Eve Day we celebrated Ella's Birthday.

Can you guess how old she is?
To celebrate we went to On Rice, her favorite restaurant, for lunch. She ordered her favorite food, Pad Thai with shrimp and extra baby corn, and even got a Shirley Temple.
After the meal our waitress surprised us with an ice cream and by singing Happy Birthday.

Ella and Greg can now do their special high 5 (her being 5 and him being another age that ends in 5)
As always E was very specific about what she wanted her birthday cake to look like. She helped me make and decorate it with princesses (It was a chocolate cake made with beets.)


On Saturday Auntie Deb and Uncle Cecil came up from Seattle to see our big 5 year old.

I notice Biniyam is sadly not in these pictures. He was sleeping, during all of them! When we went out to eat on E's birthday Bini fell asleep in the ergo (with some convincing) before our meal arrived and didn't wake up until we were ready to leave the restaurant, it was great.
