Halloween around here was a lot of fun. Ella dressed up as Lady from Lady and the the Tramp and we met up with some friends in the cute downtown area of our town. The shops were all giving out candy on the sidewalks and it was fun seeing so many kids dressed up. After 2 hours trick or treating Ella said she was ready to go to the car. I was surprised she wanted to leave until we got to the car and she said she was ready to go to the Halloween Carnival. So we headed to a park close to our house where Ella threw beanbags through a monkey's mouth and ate a donut off of a string in a candy free carnival. We came home, ate some dinner, then headed out and hit 6 houses on our cul-de-sac. Ella did great saying trick or treat, thank you, and introducing herself to our neighbors. We had very few trick or treaters to our door, but thankfully a group of Jr high kids came by at 9:30 and happily accepted the remaining candy.
I have no pictures of Halloween to post because Greg has the camera. But, even if I was able to take pictures I couldn't upload them because I spilt coffee on our new computer and fried it. Thank God it was with 90 days of purchase and my AmEx card will replace the computer for us.
Greg is in Niger, Africa with the World Wide Fistula Foundation http://www.wfmic.org/Danja2.html
They are starting a hospital there and were hoping to do 10 of these life transforming surgeries this week. However, the government has not given them approval to operate, they have made their appeal and proven their credentials but still do not have the go ahead. This is very frustrating to the group, especially since a young woman arrived on Friday in need of the surgery and is now just waiting and hoping. Please pray that they will be allowed to do at least a few of these surgeries this week.
