On December 31st Ella turned 3! She started her day by throwing Dumbo a birthday party, apparently it was his birthday too.
Ella and Nana made the sweatshirt that Ella wore on her birthday.
This was Ella's orange Triceratops cake as per her request. I spent way too much time making it but she was delighted with the end result.
For months Ella has been asking for fish for her birthday. I had been busy online searching for large fish tanks but when I asked Ella if she wanted to pick out the fish herself she seemed confused. She told me that nana already had the fish at her house. Upon further elaboration I realized Ella was requesting a fish game that nana had and did give her for Christmas. However we still decided to give Ella a fish for her Birthday. He is a red beta and she named him "Fire Airplane." When Greg admired her new fish Ella was quick to tell him "Now Daddy, you know fish die quickly, but that's okay we'll just get another one." We think she's starting fish ownership with the right mindset.
An Ice cream cake for the family party
On New Years Day we had Ella's Birthday party for her friends.
They started by decorating a wooden dinosaur.
Then Pizza
And of course cake and ice cream
and presents
Then a dinosaur egg hunt and dino-bowling.
Ella and her friends had so much fun playing dress up and pretending to be dinosaurs. See the amazing dinosaur shirt Auntie Faye made Ella for Christmas. Thank you Auntie Faye!
